tests: make the unit test result type `CURLcode`
Before this patch, the result code was a mixture of `int` and

test1540: Remove unused macro TEST_HANG_TIMEOUT
The macro has never been used, and it there is not really any place
where it would make sense to add timing checks.

When receiving chunked encoded data with trailers, and the write
callback returns PAUSE, there might be both body and header to store to

callback returns PAUSE, there might be both body and header to store to
resend on unpause. Previously libcurl returned error for that case.
Added test case 1540 to verify.
