I'm not sure what the "-=-" is supposed to be doing in:
$new_text = ereg_replace("(ftp:[^ \n\t]*)","<a href=\"\1-=-\">\\1</a>",$text);

removed references to old bug files in /version4/
these files now redirect to http://bugs.php.net/ in case old
links exist.

dammit $ver was defined as well. Using $phpver

can't use $version, it's already used by browser detection stuff in
shared.inc :(
