Bug #149: Deletion of unnecessary checks before calls of the function "free"

The function "free" is documented in the way that no action shall occur for
a passed null pointer. It is therefore not needed that a function caller
repeats a corresponding check.

Added unit test 1306 so tests 558 & 559 are now fully replaced

Converted tests 558 & 559 to use the unit test framework as 1305

Test 558 was just a subset of 559 which is something that can be
easily added later.
